DOING DAD PROUD

When it comes to childhood heroes, it is often the aspiration of many young sons to grow up, following in their father's footsteps. This is particularly true in our Asian society, where the patriarchal figure is often that of the stern, reserved, elderly man, whom his children eagerly seek to impress and win his approval through their achievements. And in the case of our next two Manhunt Singapore finalists Hadi Omar and Isaac Tan, they both certainly have grown up to become the pride and joy of their fathers' eyes.

In honour of the true spirit of martial arts, and with hopes that his son would be able to protect himself through proper self-defence, Hadi's father, a silat exponent himself, introduced him to its basics. That little push in the right direction eventually led our 27-year-old personal trainer to foster a growing adoration for martial arts.

But it wasn't until years later, through endless blood, sweat and tears, that he finally made his mark as a Muay Thai exponent in the national arena. Having achieved his ultimate ambition in the competitive world of sports, the statuesque 1.90m 93kg part-time model now sets his sights on challenging his physical and psychological limits to break new boundaries, venturing into the unchartered territory of the fashion and entertainment industry.

Similarly, 25-year-old fitness instructor Isaac's passion for kickboxing also stemmed from being inspired by his father, a national kickboxing champion. Steadfast in his pursuit, he progressively made it to the national kickboxing team, won various tournaments such as arm wrestling and tug-of-war, and is now inching his way towards fulfilling his modelling dreams as well.

With his 1.81m stature, 80kg elegant physique and adorably cherubic good looks, the fashion runways look set to welcome this stunning Antinous very soon.
